How to Adjust TrafficMaster Tiles

TrafficMaster floor tiles have interlocking edges, just like puzzle pieces. Connect them together to cover an entire room or to create an area rug. If one or more tiles become heavily soiled, remove only those tiles and replace them. You could also change the pattern of your TrafficMaster rug by removing some tiles and inserting others with a different color scheme. Use the smaller edge and corner pieces to form a perimeter with straight edges.

Instructions

    • 1

Lift one corner of the tile you wish to remove. Separate the interlocking edges so that it lifts away from the other tiles.

    • 2

Lift the remaining interlocking edges. Hold the adjacent tiles down with one hand and lift the interlocking edges with your other hand.

    • 3

Remove any other tiles that you wish to adjust in the same manner.

    • 4

Insert any new tiles that you wish to add into the empty spaces. Place the tile so that the interlocking edges connect with the adjacent tiles. If the tile is at the perimeter of the rug, connect an edge piece at the perimeter to maintain the straight line of the rug.

    • 5

Tap the interlocking edges lightly with a rubber mallet to press them down and secure them.
