How to Paint a Ceiling With Ceiling Cable Heat Paint

It's possible to buy heat-resistant paint that can withstand temperatures of over 1,000 Fahrenheit. As it's unlikely your ceiling cable heating system throws out this sort of heat, you shouldn't have too much trouble finding a product and a color to apply to the plasterboard that covers your heating elements. Once you've bought your heat-resistant paint, the process of applying it to your ceiling is much the same as it is for using a standard paint.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove or cover any furniture in the room you plan to paint.

    • 2

Mask off the top of your walls where they meet your ceiling with masking tape and loosen or remove any light fittings. Turn off your ceiling heating before you begin work.

    • 3

Pour heat-resistant paint into your paint tray and start painting your ceiling with a roller. Don't apply too much paint to your roller. If you do, paint could drip over you and your floor. Apply paint thinly and evenly. Don't worry if your painting job looks patchy while applying your first coat.

Paint into the corners of your ceiling using a paint brush.

Allow your first coat to dry and then apply a second. If your paint job looks patchy or uneven, consider adding a third coat.
