Caring for a Palmetto Floor

Cleaning

• Palmetto floors should be kept clean and free of debris at all times. A clean floor eliminates the potential for scratches and nicks caused by dragged debris. Wooden and metal furniture legs can also dent the floor by simply resting in place. Use felt protectors or furniture coasters under the furniture to prevent damage to the floor. Place long bristle mats at each door to capture the grit at the bottom of people’s shoes as they enter the home. This will reduce the occurrence of tiny scratches and scuffs caused by regular walking traffic.
