Instructions

    • 1

Cover your workspace with garbage bags or newspapers. Lay the mirror on the workspace.

    • 2

Clean the mirror with a soapy cloth, removing dirt and debris from small crevices. Use a wet, soapy toothbrush to remove dirt from hard-to-reach places.

    • 3

Apply blue painter's tape along the mirror's edges to protect it during the painting process.

    • 4

Prime the frame with a coat of white water-based paint to hide old paint. Allow the paint to dry for at least one hour.

    • 5

Squirt antique gold paint in a foam cup. Paint the mirror using a small paint brush. Refill the cup as needed to paint the entire frame. Allow it to dry for at least six hours.

    • 6

Sand the edges of the mirror with a piece of 150-grit sandpaper, removing a little of the gold paint to reveal the white underneath. This will give the mirror an antique, yet gold look.
