How to Paint Camouflage on Furniture

Camouflage is most commonly used on military attire or hunting equipment but can also be used as a theme for a den or bedroom. Although walls can be painted traditionally, other objects in the room can be painted using a camouflage pattern. For example, paint a chair or table using a camouflage paint pattern to make it appear as if it is hidden and blends right into the walls.

Fine-grain sandpaper
Latex paint, 4 different shades
4 paint trays
Paintbrush, 2-inch flat
3 round sponges

Instructions

  Sand the entire surface of the piece of furniture using fine-grain sandpaper. Move the sandpaper in small, circular motions.

  Pour a light shade of latex paint into a paint tray, then apply the paint in an even layer over the piece of sanded furniture.

  Pour three different shades of paint into three different paint trays. Select shades of the same color of paint.

  Dip a round sponge into one of the paint shades, then stamp the paint onto the surface of the piece of furniture. Space the stamps out evenly.

  Dip a second round sponge into one of the other paint shades, then stamp the paint onto the surface of the piece of furniture. Position the second set of stamps directly next to the initial stamps with one edge touching.

  Dip the third round sponge into the remaining paint shade, then stamp the paint onto the surface of the piece of furniture. Position the third stamps next to the first and second stamps for a triangular form. Once all of the stamps are in place, the area will be filled with a camouflage pattern. Allow the paint to dry for six to eight hours.
