Instructions

    • 1

Dust the item you want to give a primitive look to. If necessary, wash it thoroughly to remove any dirt or grease. Rinse and dry completely. This enables the paint to adhere better.

    • 2

Paint your item with the base coat of paint. This is the paint that you want to show through the cracks in the primitive finish. Allow the paint to dry.

    • 3

Use a foam brush to spread a layer of white glue onto the dry base coat. Do not allow the glue to dry.

    • 4

Apply the second paint color to the wet glue surface. The paint will crackle as it dries, giving the item a primitive look. Allow the paint to dry thoroughly.

    • 5

Paint a final coat of glue onto the item. This seals and protects the primitive-looking finish.
