Clean the wall area of stains, hair spray, cobwebs or other debris before beginning to paint. This provides a clean surface that allows the paint to adhere better.
Cover any window sills, baseboards or other areas with painter's tape. This protects the area from paint splatters.
Paint the base coat on your walls, using the paint rollers and brushes. Allow the base coat to dry thoroughly.
Mix 1 qt. of the interior paint you chose for the top coat and 1 gallon of the faux glaze together. Stir well with a paint stick. Pour it into the paint pan.
Load a 6-inch mini-roller brush with the glaze and paint mixture. Paint it onto a 3-by-3-foot area.
Dampen a cleaning cloth and wad it up. Roll it over the glaze mixture on the wall while it is still wet. This lifts off some of the glaze so that you can see the base coat. Switch to a clean cloth or rinse it once it becomes saturated.
Repeat the method by covering another 3-by-3-foot section with paint and rolling a damp cleaning cloth over it. Step back to survey your work occasionally and overlap and blend the edges of the sections as needed. Allow the wall to dry thoroughly before removing the painter's tape.
