# Antiquing a Table Top With Glaze
Things You'll Need
- Gloves
- Rag
- Sander/sand paper
- Semi-paste furniture stripper
- Antique white primer
- Wood glaze
- Paint brush

Hand sander Sand the tabletop with an electric sander or pieces of square sandpaper to help the paint stick to the surface. Rub the sander or sandpaper back and forth over the entire surface until the table feels rough. If necessary, apply semi-paste furniture stripper to the entire table evenly to take off any previous paint or glaze.

Primer on wood Apply white primer using large strokes across the entire surface of the table with a paint brush or rag. Wait about two hours for it to dry. Sand the table again.

Table with wood glaze Apply the wood glaze. You can choose many colors depending on what look you are going for. It looks black you first apply it to the table. Wipe it off if it's too dark or apply more for a darker look. Allow the glaze to dry (no more than six hours). Sand the table again. Use the sander around the edges to give it an ever better antique look.

Apply a vinyl wood finish with a paintbrush for a older "hard-rubbed" look. Allow that to dry completely. The finish will give it that antique look while protecting your new table.
