How to Dilute Lacquer Thinner When Stripping Furniture

The process of refinishing furniture involves stripping off the old finish, preparing the wood and then applying fresh stain or paint. After removing finish to reveal the bare wood, you may decide to stain it with a special dye formulated to add rich color. Transform the dye into a stain by adding diluted lacquer thinner to it. The correct ratio of chemicals is important to ensure that the wood receives the dye stain effectively.
