How to Frame a Magazine

Magazine covers can make one-of-a-kind art pieces. The process of framing a magazine does not differ much from framing a picture or another piece of artwork. A store bought frame in the size of the magazine should work well. Due to the different sizes of magazines the fame size will vary. Thicker magazines may require the cover to be removed from the rest of the magazine in order to fit into the frame.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure the dimensions of the magazine.

    • 2

Purchase a frame for the magazine. The frame should provide an extra inch of buffer on all sides of the magazine. Place the magazine in the center of the frame and insert a mat border behind it. This will make it look more complete.

    • 3

Place the frame face down. Open the backing of the frame.

    • 4

Place the magazine face down into the frame and center it. If the magazine is too thick, cut the cover of the magazine off and only frame the cover. Fortunately, this will not be required of most magazines.

    • 5

Place the backing over the back of the magazine. Reattach the backing to the frame.

    • 6

Lift up the framed magazine and check to make sure it is centered. If it is not, then adjust it.

    • 7

Mount the frame on the wall.
