How to Decorate a Mantel With Brass Candlesticks & Candles

Place a single candlestick in the mantel’s center. Put one candlestick on either side of the mantel. If you have three or more, span the brass candlesticks evenly across the mantel.

Select candle colors for the brass candlesticks that match or go well with the main colors found in the room’s furniture and accessories. Use the same candle colors throughout the mantel for consistency of appearance.

Place other accessories between the brass candlesticks. Use objects that are wider and not as tall to achieve a level of balance and prevent the area from being overwhelmed by height. For example, place a wide ceramic vessel in the center of two brass candlesticks.

Drape a fabric runner that spans the mantel and hangs slightly over the edges to give the area some color. Choose a fabric color that matches the candles.
