How to Hide a Cinder Block Wall

A cinder block wall has a cold, imposing appearance, making an area seem more like an industrial warehouse than a living space. When you have a cinder block wall in your home or office, covering it improves the room’s appearance while adding colorful style. Make a fabric wall with curtains or long sheets of material and hide it from view.

Instructions

    • 1

Take measurements of the cinder block wall and determine the size of fabric or curtains you’ll need, based on the numbers. Opt for material that reaches from floor to ceiling for full coverage of the cinder block.

    • 2

Install a curtain wire between the two walls opposite the one you’re trying to hide. Screw two eyehooks in place, using a drill to create pilot holes. Cut the wire to the length between the two, plus an additional six inches. Thread the curtain wire through on either side and secure with wire rope clips.

Place a row of decorative curtain clips along the wire. Clip the floor-to-ceiling fabric pieces in place and pull so they span the entire cinder block wall, providing coverage.
