How to Hide Speaker Wires Up the Corner of a Wall

A sound system with good speakers can transform a room into an enjoyable place for listening to music or watching a favorite movie. One potential issue with a speaker system is the amount of wires that are required to hook up the various components. If you have a surround sound system with speakers in the corners of a room, hide the cords at the point where the two walls meet.

Instructions

    • 1

Install the speakers along the corners of each wall, placed in their final location. Place them directly in the corners of the room, whether it’s at ceiling level or mid-wall. Arrange it so the wires hang straight down the corners.

    • 2

Measure the length of the wires that are in the corners. Cut a cord cover strip to this length using a utility knife. Use a circular cord cover, which is easier to mount in a corner location compared to rectangular models.

    • 3

Paint the cord cover strip in the same paint color as the walls on which you’re installing it.

    • 4

Thread the speaker wires through the circular cord cover. Peel the adhesive backing off the cord cover back and stick it into place in the wall’s corner.
