How to Lacquer Pictures on Cabinets

If you want to give your cabinets a fun and dramatic change, you can permanently lacquer the pictures of your choice to the front of them. Decoupaging glue will seal the pictures to the surface of the cabinets as though they are a part of them. Select a shiny finish decoupage glue for the cabinets so that the pictures look more natural against the finish.

Instructions

    • 1

Wipe the area where you wish to attach the pictures on the cabinets using a soft cloth dampened in hot water. Allow the area to dry.

    • 2

Insert a sponge applicator into a jar of decoupaging glue and apply a small dollop on the back of a picture.

    • 3

Press the picture against the cabinet, holding it in place until it stays. Repeat with any other pictures you wish to lacquer to the cabinets.

    • 4

Paint a thin but even coat of decoupaging glue over all the pictures using the sponge applicator, covering them completely. The decoupaging glue will appear a solid white at first, but will transform into a crystal clear finish after it dries.
