Select an odd number of photos in a variety of sizes, ranging from 2 inches by 3 inches to 5 inches by 7 inches. Use both color and black-and-white photographs, if you desire.
Place each photograph into a frame. Use frames in a variety of styles, from ornate to simple. Choose a mixture of metal, glass and wood frames for an interesting and compelling presentation.
Place the lamp or the vase -- whichever is taller -- in a corner on the table. This will act as the anchor for the arrangement.
Set the shorter of the two objects near the opposite end of the table, to offset the height of the anchor.
Add the framed photographs to fill in the remaining space on the table. Strive for a pleasing and uncluttered effect. Leave 2 to 3 inches between each picture. Arrange the pictures so that the larger ones are in the back and the smaller ones are in the front. Stagger them as necessary to ensure that each one is visible as you walk by the hallway table.
Place a small curio or knickknack on the table if there is a large space that needs filling. However, remember that "less is more." Allow small spaces to remain empty to achieve a simple, uncluttered look.
