Make a tulle window treatment by sewing a simple valance. Cut two pieces of tulle to a width about twice that of the window, and a length twice as long as you want the finished valence to be. Fold the two pieces of tulle in half and sew all four layers together about two inches from the fold. This creates a pocket at the top for the curtain rod. Fluff and arrange the layers of tulle on the rod until they lay in ripples like a ballerina skirt. Add butterfly pins to green tulle for a magical forest look. Blue and green sequins on blue tulle resembles an enchanted waterfall. Glittering gems on pink tulle set the stage for a fairy princess’s royal chamber.

Wrap end tables in tulle. Measure around the edge of the piece and double this number for a full tulle skirt. Cut two or more layers of tulle to size. Cover the table with a tablecloth and pin the tulle to the cloth in gathers. When the tulle is arranged evenly, remove the entire piece from the table and sew the tulle to the cloth. Sew or glue a decorative ribbon featuring flowers, fairies or princess crowns around the edge where the tulle meets the top of the table for a sleek, finished look.

Use tulle around a lampshade to soften the light for your fairytale setting. Cut a piece of tulle just slightly larger than the lampshade. Secure the tulle to the shade with dots of hot glue around the top. Wrap a ribbon around the top and tie with a showy bow. Fluff the loose tulle around the bottom of the shade to resemble a fanciful gown.

Cover a mirror with a delicate layer of tulle. This gives it a distinctly magical and mysterious appearance. Pin the tulle piece to the wall just behind the top of the mirror. Screw a hook to the wall on one side of the mirror and attach a ribbon for use as a tie back. When the magic mirror is in use, the tulle can be pulled away to the side and secured with the ribbon. When it’s not in use, the tulle is let down to help conserve its magic powers.
