How to Hang Moss Wreaths Outside

A moss wreath can be hung plain or it can be adorned with seasonal silk or dried fruits and flowers, decorations or even living plants such as succulents. Moss wreaths often do well outside as they dry well and are resistant to frosty and wet weather. Wreaths can be sophisticated or whimsical. Those made with dried moss can often be reused for different holidays.

Instructions

    • 1

Decide where you will hang your wreath.

    • 2

Purchase a wreath hanger if you are hanging the wreath on a door. The wreath hanger has a hook for the wreath on one end and a flat, three-sided box shape on the other that fits over the top of the door. If the door is metal or has a glass panel, look for a magnetic wreath hanger.

    • 3

Hammer a nail into the place you want to hang the wreath if it's not a door, such as a fence or deck railing.

    • 4

Measure a piece of decorative ribbon that, once threaded through the wreath, is long enough to tie onto the nail and hang your wreath at the desired length. You can also skip the ribbon and hang the wreath directly from the nail, if you wish.
