Find a stud behind the tile, drywall or other material. Look for a stud in the area where you plan to install the bowed shower rod. To do this, move a stud finder from left to right until it notifies you of a stud.
Position the provided installation template in the desired location, preferably in front of the stud, and tape it to the wall. The location is based on personal preference, but the rod should be installed low enough to allow 6 inches of curtain to hang over the edge of the tub. Also mount the curved shower rod 3 inches closer to the opposite shower wall than a standard rod to compensate for the portion of the rod that curves outward. Repeat this process on the other side of the shower.
Drill 5/16-inch holes through the designated spots on the installation template with an electric hand drill.
Insert one of the provided anchors into each drilled hole.
Position the shower rod's mounting bracket against the pre-drilled holes. Drive the provided screws through the mounting bracket and into the inserted anchors using a Phillips screwdriver.
Push the plastic connector securing the two rods out of its position with your hand. Adjust the length of the bowed shower rod until the mounting bracket on the other side is flush with the wall. Move the connector back in position. Screw the bracket into place.
Slide the decorative covers over the brackets.
