Getting Uppercase Living Decals to Stick to the Wall

Wall decals are decorative pieces that can be used to embellish almost any clean, flat surface. Because walls are slightly textured, proper application is crucial to ensure that the decal stays stuck to the wall. Besides applying the decal correctly, you will also need to prepare the area on the wall that you wish to decorate. After the decals have been applied to the wall, they cannot be re-stuck if they peel away; getting it right the first time will make all the difference.

Instructions

    • 1

Wash the area on the wall thoroughly with warm, soapy water to strip the surface of all oils, dust and other buildup.

    • 2

Buff the wall dry using a soft cloth.

    • 3

Lay the Uppercase Living wall decal on the wall in the exact position that you wish to hang it. Secure the paper backing to the wall by placing a strip of painter's tape across the top.

    • 4

Lift the bottom of the paper up and away from the wall so that you can reach underneath, even though the tape should be holding the top of the decal to the wall like a hinge.

    • 5

Peel the protective sheet away from behind the decal to expose its sticky side of the transfer tape.

    • 6

Lower the transfer tape back down so that the wall decal presses flat against the wall in the predetermined position, held steady by the painter's tape.

    • 7

Rub the entire surface of the wall decal design using the Uppercase Living application tool to secure the vinyl decal to the wall.

    • 8

Peel away the transfer tape carefully, leaving only the wall decal design. If there are leveling marks around the border of the decal, peel them off the wall.
