Measure the circumference of your shower rod with a flexible measuring tape.
Cut pieces of 18-gauge copper wire into a length at least 2 inches longer than the shower rod circumference. Allow one piece for each oval shower ring you plan to make.
Bend the shower rings into an oval shape, leaving a gap of approximately one inch between each end of the wire to allow for attachment to the shower rod. Use pliers to help bend the wire, if necessary.
Roll two equal-size pieces of modeling clay into a ball. Push each ball over one end of the copper wire to provide a decorative effect and to cover the sharp ends. Make the balls small enough to fit through the holes in the shower curtain.
Bake the modeling clay according to directions on the packaging, or let it air dry, if applicable. The copper wire is oven safe.
