How to Decorate a Brass Pedestal Table

Look at the brass pedestal table to determine what features you want to enhance. Sometimes the entire piece is constructed of the metal, while other pedestal tables only have brass accents on glass or a wood base.

Pick coasters with a brass trim or select them in a warm color that coordinates with the rest of the room decor. Warm shades of terra cotta, gold, taupe and sage green look perfect with the yellow tone in the brass.

Set a crystal or a narrow, brass lamp on the pedestal table if it has a glass top. This accentuates the airy look of the glass and adds sparkle. If the pedestal table has a wood top and is trimmed with only brass accents, a wood or brass lamp base works well.

Add knickknacks and decor to the brass pedestal table that have antique gold or brass accents. Don't feel that you have to use only solid brass candlesticks or sculptures on the table. Choose the decor size based on whether it is a slender pedestal or has a top with enough room for a few knickknacks, a lamp and other accessories.

Set a centerpiece in the middle of the brass table if the area doesn't require a lamp. Choose a warm colored container made of pottery, brass or wood. Utilize warm or earth tones in the flower choices.

Place a single, potted plant on the brass table if the pedestal is tall and narrow. Use either a silk or live plant depending on the light source in the area. These types of pedestal tables work well in a foyer or other area where you only have space for a slim, yet elegant piece of decor.
