Measure the entire area that you want to cover with sliding panels. Record both the height and width of the area. Make a small mark with a pencil at each corner or end point for the dividers.
Divide the width by the width of your fabric. Most fabrics are 36 inches wide, but some are 54 inches wide. This will tell you how many sections of fabric you need to cover the space.
Mark your measurements onto your fabric with a fabric pencil. Add 2 inches to the height measurement for a seam allowance.
Cut the fabric panels with scissors.
Fold the raw edges of the fabric over 1 inch onto the backside of the panel. Pin the fabric all the way around each piece with straight pins.
Sew a 1-inch seam around the panels to prevent the raw edges from fraying. Remove the pins as you sew the panels.
Space café curtain rings along the top edge of the panels every 6 inches. These rings have small clips that hold the fabric while the rings can slide on curtain rods, fishing line or a plastic coated wire to divide the space.
