Tape around the baseboards, light switches and other areas where you don't want the gold glaze. Do this with masking or painter's tape.
Lay down an old sheet or a painter's cloth to protect the floor from any glaze drips.
Shake the glaze can well before pouring about a cup into a disposable plastic bowl. If you need more glaze later, shake the can again.
Dip a large sea sponge into the metallic gold glaze. Gently shake the sponge to rid it of any drips.
Press the sponge onto the wall in random areas that are relatively close together. This technique, called "pouncing," releases the glaze onto the wall. Do this seven or eight times with the sponge within approximately a 2-foot square area.
Spread the gold glaze out by rubbing the sponge over it in different directions. Step back to check if you covered the section well, then repeat the application in the next area. Repeat this in each area until all the cream-colored walls have a pleasing gold sheen.
Allow the metallic gold glazing to dry on the walls. Read the directions on the can to determine the drying time.
