Hanging Up a Comforter as a Headboard

If you have a lovely quilt or comforter that is too fragile or expensive to use, then consider turning it into wall art. A quilt or comforter makes a fine backdrop to your bedroom by functioning as a headboard. Make sure your comforter has been steamed or ironed before placing it on your wall.

Instructions

    • 1

Move your mattress and box spring out of the way. Place a step stool in front of the wall where you want to hang your comforter.

    • 2

Measure the width and length of the comforter. You will want to make sure the comforter hangs just below your mattress.

    • 3

Trace a line that is the width of your comforter across the wall with a pencil. Use a level to ensure the line is straight.

    • 4

Place a curtain rod against the line and with the help of an assistant screw the hardware into the wall. Hook the curtain rod onto the hardware.

    • 5

Place clip-on curtain rings onto the curtain rod. These rings will slide onto the rod. Pinch the clip-on clamps at the bottom of the rings one at a time so that they open. Place the top border of the comforter into the clamps and release. You will be hanging the comforter onto the rings much like you would a curtain.
