Form the wire into the desired shape for the canopy top. Circles work well over round or square areas, while ovals work better for longer or narrower areas. Let the ends of wire overlap by at least 2 inches in the center of one side of the shape.
Thread the wire through the holes on one of the shorter ends of tulle, placing 1/4 inch of fabric on each side of the wire until the entire piece of fabric is attached. Leave at least 1 inch of mesh above the wire.
Repeat Step 2 until all of the fabric is on the wire. Where the wire overlaps, thread the excess wire through the tulle from the opposite direction.
Cut four pieces of ribbon 12 inches longer than required to reach from the center of the shape to the outer edge. For an oval, you should have two long ribbons and two short ribbons. For a circle, all four ribbons should be the same length.
Separate the mesh pieces on the wire to expose the wire in the center of each side of the wire shape. Tie the ribbons securely to the center of each side of the wire, being certain to tie the wire ends together.
Tie the four long ends of ribbon together at the center of the wire shape.
Hang the canopy from the knot in the center of the wire. For larger shapes, additional ribbons may be necessary on the ends or sides of the wire shape for stability.
Place the curtain rod along the top of the mesh fabric.
Pull the top of the fabric up above the curtain rod and wrap the tulle around the rod. Pin the mesh together to form a rod pocket.
Pull the rod out of the tulle. Be careful not to dislodge the pins.
Stitch the tulle along the bottom of the rod pocket with a zigzag stitch or blind hem stitch on the sewing machine. Remove the pins as you stitch.
Place the curtain rod through the rod pocket and hang the curtain sheers.
Lay the fabric across the top of the table. Adjust two sides of the tulle to the desired length of the table covering.
Cut the long edges of mesh fabric to the desired length.
Remove the mesh from the table and fold it in half twice to divide the fabric into four quarters. Use sharp scissors to trim the edges so that all sides of the table covering will be even.
Stitch a rolled hem around the edges of the tulle using a needle and thread or a sewing machine with a rolled hem foot.
