Paint the walls in the colors of your favorite football team. For instance, paint the walls white and use orange as an accent if you like the University of Tennessee football team. Alternatively, paste a mural or wallpaper of a football stadium on the largest or focal wall and paint the other walls white, or form vertical stripes using white and your team's color.
Paste theme-related items, such as posters of your favorite players, surrounded by football cards and team logos, on bare or white walls to add color to the space. If you have football jerseys or autographed memorabilia, display them on the corners of the wall, creating a private gallery dedicated to your favorite sport. Alternatively, push a mirrored cabinet against a wall and display football-related accessories in it, including helmets, trophies you have won and treasured keepsakes.
Measure and cut artificial turf and install it using small nails for a wooden floor or carpet installation tools if the underlayment is linoleum or another flooring material. You can install the artificial turf on the entire floor, or only on one side, leaving a section of the floor bare for furniture you want to place in the man cave. Mark white lines and numbers on the artificial turf mat to portray yards, so it resembles a football field.
Place two or more rows of wooden benches against the focal wall so the man cave resembles a football stadium. Space the rows sufficiently apart to allow for movement and legroom for viewers in the back.
Mount a large screen television on the wall along one end of the room, and place recliners or chairs on the opposite side where you can relax and watch your favorite game. Place a small refrigerator nearby stacked with beer and snacks.
Spread a rug in your favorite team's color or in the shape of a football near the seating arrangement to add color and texture to the space. Cover the walls with drapery in your team’s colors or with printed images of the team’s mascot.
