How to Make a Pirate Ship Chandelier

If there is an old chandelier in your child's room that feels out of place, transform or disguise it by adding whimsical, pirate-themed accessories to it. The key is to create a visual effect that draws the viewer's eye away from mere brass and bulbs and turns the chandelier into an adventure on the high seas.

Instructions

    • 1

Wrap the chandelier base with blue metallic wire garland, which you can purchase at a craft store. Twist it in and out of the chandelier frame, creating the look of water.

    • 2

Hang holiday tree ornaments in the shapes of fish, boats, pirates, anchors and other ship-themed items from the blue garland.

    • 3

Nestle miniature pirate flags into the wire so that they are hanging off the sides of the chandelier.

    • 4

Cut 10-inch strips of fabric ribbon in red, blue, white and black. Tie the ribbon in various places around the chandelier to give the chandelier visual interest.
