How to Hang Finger Starfish on the Wall

Starfish are an ideal reminder of long, lazy summer days at your favorite beach. Dozens of starfish species live in oceans around the world, although the pale color and thin, delicate arms of the finger starfish make it a popular choice for home décor. Hanging an array of finger starfish on the wall will give your home a light, summery feeling on even the darkest winter days.

Instructions

    • 1

Set the starfish on a damp towel and wipe off any sand and debris. Use a small, soft brush to remove any stuck-on mud or plant material and rinse the starfish under cool water.

Add a bead of hot glue to the base of one arm of the starfish and press a length of jute twine onto the hot glue. Wrap the twine gently around the arm, gluing it all the way around to prevent slipping. Finger starfish are extremely delicate, so handle them gently as you glue on the twine.

Hammer a nail halfway into the wall and wrap the free end of the twine around the nail. Tie a small knot in the twine and hammer the nail flush against the wall. Finger starfish don’t have large enough spaces in the back to suspend them directly from the nail, so the twine is necessary to hang them up.
