How to Calculate Curtain Length With Double Curtain Rods

If you have double curtain rods hanging over bare windows, it may be time to outfit them with curtains. There are a wide variety of curtain lengths that will accompany a double curtain rod. You will need to determine which style fits best with the width and length of your window. A double curtain rod has two rods -- one for a curtain liner and one for a main curtain panel.

     Place a tape measure at the top of the double-curtain rod, which should be installed above your window.

     Measure down to the ground, and record the measurement. This is the maximum length your curtains can be.

     Hang both a liner and curtain panels on the double rods. The liner and rings will go on the inner rod, and the curtain panels will go on the outer panel.
