DIY Cabinet Turned Hamper

If you'd like a hamper in your room but don't want to take up any extra space, you can create a DIY clothes hamper in any unused cabinet. Having a hamper inside of a cabinet is discreet and can make it much easier to keep a room clean. Hamper nets are inexpensive and can be purchased in a variety of sizes in home stores and online. Instructions

    • 1

Measure the height of the cabinet with a measuring tape. Purchase a hamper net that's large enough to fit inside the cabinet while leaving 6 inches of free space on top for easy access.

    • 2

Use a pencil to make a mark on the inside of each corner in the cabinet, at the height of the hamper net.

    • 3

Press the sharpened tip of a screw-in wall hook against one of the pencil marks. Push the tip in while rotating the hook clockwise until the hook is embedded in the wood.

    • 4

Install a screw-in wall hook in each corner.

    • 5

Hang the hamper net from the hooks.
