How to Adjust Cleat Depth on a Floor Nailer

If you have a floor nailer gun, then it is likely that you use it to install hardwood floors or carpeting. A floor nailer gun works similarly to an office stapler. To change the depth of the cleats -- another name for staples -- you simply need to change the size of cleats you are using.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the slot where the floor cleats are housed in the floor nailer.

    • 2

      Remove the current cleats.

    • 3

Place a row of new cleats into the cleat tray. You will need to make sure that your floor nailer is designed for the depth of cleat you want to use. Close the tray and snap it back into place.
