How to Make Magnetic Clips for Stainless Steel Refrigerators

Stainless steel refrigerators add a modern, stylish look to a kitchen. Because most stainless steel appliances are not magnetic, due to alloys contained in the material, you won’t be able to decorate the front with fun, colorful magnet. However, if the sides of your refrigerator are magnetic, you can utilize them in a traditional way. Make customized magnetic clips where you can hang memos, photos or artwork.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Select the size of bulldog clips that matches the size of clip you want for the side of your stainless steel refrigerator. Use bigger clips for a stronger visual presence or smaller clips if you plan to display a wide range of items.

    • 2

Apply a layer of polyurethane glue to the round section on the top of the bulldog clip. Press a round magnet, available at most craft stores, into place.

    • 3

Turn the bulldog clip over and attach a decorative element to the other circle. This could be a button, fabric flower, plastic charm, modeling clay object or any other small item.

Let the magnets and decorative elements dry overnight and attach to the side of your stainless steel refrigerator.
