Screw a pipe flange to the wall where you want to hang the toilet tissue holder. Ensure that the flange, elbow, pipe and cap are all the same size -- 3/4-inch is ideal for a toilet tissue holder. When you are hanging multiple rolls, allow about 5 inches of pipe space per roll. For example, you would need a pipe about 10 inches long to hang two rolls at once.
Screw the elbow into the flange, then screw the pipe -- the length of which can vary, depending on how much you want it to hold -- into the elbow.
Screw the pipe cap onto the exposed end of the pipe, then thread toilet tissue rolls onto the pipe.
Screw an eye hook into the ceiling, above where you want your toilet tissue to hang.
Tie a string or chain to the hook. Use a material that suits your style; for example, use a thin chain in an industrial or old-fashioned bathroom, or use a length of rope in a country-style bathroom. The length of the string depends on the height of your ceiling and how high you want the toilet paper to hang -- bear in mind that each roll takes up between 4 and 5 inches of string space.
Tie the loose end of the string or chain around a 4-inch stick. Tie it around the middle of the stick, so that the stick hangs parallel to the ground.
Turn the stick vertically so that it hugs the string, then thread the toilet paper roll over both. Once the stick passes through the roll, let it hang in its natural, horizontal position -- this way, the toilet paper hangs vertically, threaded on the string but held in place by the horizontal stick. To hang multiple rolls at once, simply stack them on top of one another as they are threaded onto the string.
