Cut four 2-by-4 boards 72 inches long, six 24 inches long, and three 48 inches long using a circular saw.
Place two of the 72-inch wood boards on a flat surface on their narrow sides. Space the boards 45 inches apart.
Place the three 48-inch long boards on their broad sides horizontally across the 72-inch boards, with one in the middle and the others 18 inches to either side. Nail the boards in place using a hammer with 3-inch nails.
Turn the form over, then nail three 24-inch boards inside the right and left sides of the 72-inch boards using 3-inch nails. These boards should be perpendicular to the 48-inch boards. They will be the slat boards of the cabinet.
Secure the remaining two 72-inch long boards along the tops of the 24-inch boards, exactly parallel to the first two 72-inch boards, so that the top end of the 24-inch board and the top side of the 72-inch board are flush with each other. Use 3-inch nails. Raise the storage cabinet up from end to end, so that it stands 6 feet high.
Cut three pieces of 1/2-inch plywood to measure 24-inches wide and 45-inches long. Place each plywood board on top of the ledges created by the slat boards. Tack the plywood boards in place with 3-inch nails.
Cut out two sheets of plywood to measure 48 inches wide by 72 inches long. Nail one of the plywood sheets onto the back of the storage cabinet using 3-inch nails.
Attach the other plywood sheet onto the front of the cabinet using three brass hinges: one in the middle, one 4 inches from the top and one 4 inches from the bottom.
Cut out two rectangles from plywood to measure 24 inches wide by 72 inches long. Nail the boards onto the sides of the cabinet using 3-inch nails.
Attach a hook-and-eye door latch. Turn the smaller eye hook to which the hooked piece is attached into the front of the door. Turn the larger eye hook into the 2-by-4 board where the closing board meets the frame.
