Brick Bungalow Colors

A brick bungalow is a warm and cozy living space constructed almost entirely from bricks. One wall might be drywall, but most of the construction is brick. Due to the rustic nature of brick, builders and homeowners incorporate warm, friendly colors into the design. Some brick bungalows have light-colored brick, but most have traditional red brick.
  1. Soft, Neutral Hues

    • Using soft, neutral colors in room designs lighten and brighten a brick bungalow. White, off-white, beige, tan, eggshell and light gray visually expand the size of rooms. Light-colored wood flooring such as oak or pine and light-colored carpeting work well with the brick. Color choices extend to furniture, such as a beige or tan fabric sofa or love seat.

    Complementary Colors

    • Complementary colors harmonize with a brick bungalow's soft brown, orange or red tones. Brick that is brown or orange goes well with maple hardwood accent tables and a maple coffee table. Maple has soft peach undertones that blend with orange-brown brick. If the brick is deep red, it may have specks of gray, rust or turquoise. Choose fabric for accent chairs or window treatments that incorporates that speck of color.

    Shades of Blue

    • Shades of blue complement a brick bungalow home design. Soft blue colors such as aquamarine, gray-blue and teal make bungalow rooms cool and refreshing. Soft blue throw pillows, accent rugs and fragrant candles add comfort and serenity. Darker blue shades, including smoky blue, sea blue and navy, give a brick bungalow a dark, elegant and mysterious ambiance. Lamp stands and wall hangings with those colors blend with the brick walls.

    Earth Tones

    • For a warm natural motif in your brick bungalow, select earth-tone fabrics, furniture and accessories to harmonize with the outdoor rustic appeal of brick. A wrought-iron chandelier and wrought-iron candle holders add depth to the design. Rustic walnut flooring and soft brown leather furniture create a cozy feeling in the brick rooms. Bright colors, however, could detract from the natural beauty of the bungalow's rich-toned brick.
