How to Decorate With Cobalt Blue Sinks

Standard sink colors like silver or white may not cut it for your decorating tastes. Using a distinctive color draws attention and adds life to the room. If you have a cobalt blue sink in your bathroom or kitchen, decorate the surrounding areas using colors that mesh well with this vibrant hue, and avoid too much use of bright color.

Instructions

    • 1

Select a paint color for the walls in the room with the cobalt blue sink. Choose something light to complement the dark sinks. Opt for similar cool tones, like sky blue or pale green, or warm up the feel of the space with colors like pale yellow or beige.

    • 2

Create a backsplash in back of the cobalt blue sink, using tiles. Opt for stainless steel or colored glass for a modern vibe, or copper or ceramic tile for a traditional feel.

    • 3

Add accent pieces to the sink itself, such as decorative soap dishes, toothbrush holders or soap dispensers. Select a color and style that go with the paint and backsplash. Avoid using something that’s entirely cobalt blue, as it can blend too much with the sink.

    • 4

Hang pictures and artwork on the wall around the blue sink that have limited color, so as not to overwhelm the area. Stick to black-and-white pictures or paintings with mute tones.

Incorporate towels, curtains, pot holders, shower curtains or other soft accessories appropriate for the room. Use cobalt blue to complement the sink, or lighter colors that go with the wall color.
