Beach Theme Colors

Many associate the beach with leisure, and as such, a room with a nautical theme can produce a feeling of relaxation. From neutral and blue wall paints to pastel accessories and cool white furniture, the color scheme can really pull together the look of a beach-themed room.
  1. Tans and Beiges

    • Neutral colors that resemble the sand you find on the beach make perfect background colors for your beach-themed room. Beige, ivory, light gray, tan, and soft yellows are perfect examples and can be used as your wall color.

    Blues

    • Blue is one of the first colors that comes to mind when you think of the beach. Tones that resemble the sky and the ocean are perfect in combination with whites and neutral colors and can really make the room.

    Pastels

    • Pastels can be smoothly and easily be mixed and matched together, giving you a seemingly endless number of combinations. Watery blues, seashell pinks, seafoam greens and powdery purples and yellows are great options.

    Whites & Furniture Colors

    • Cool white interior decorations make perfect accents to beach-themed rooms and especially complement any blue hues. Room accessories such as lamps are best in reflective, metallic surfaces reminiscent of the ocean's reflective properties. Light or dark woods, sisal rugs and ivory-painted furniture will also build on the relaxed feel.

    Other Colors

    • Other colors are not traditionally associated with the beach, but could fit the color scheme. For example, colors such as yellow and black are frequently used in nautical flags. Red is not as classically beach-related as blue, but it is also a nautical color that could find a place within your room. You can draw color inspiration from buoys, sails, and life preservers as well.
