Colors for Walls That Match Light Green

If you have large light green furnishings, such as a sectional sofa, a tablecloth or curtains, you may be looking for wall colors that will show them to their best effect. There are several good choices, each of which can create a different mood in your home. Don't limit yourself to painting the entire wall; if you are attracted to a shade such as red-violet but feel it could be overwhelming, use it instead to paint accents, such as molding and side tables.
  1. Cool Pink

    • Light greens that lean toward mint are ideal companions with cool shades of pink. This look is girly and preppy when you combine cool pink walls with white trim, light green and white furniture and pink accents in a bright, conservative living room. It can also go retro when buttercup yellow and robin's-egg blue are mixed in the form of dishware in a kitschy-chic kitchen. Fresh flowers with pink blooms and minty stems, such as tulips, complete either look.

    Red-Violet

    • Red-violet is a bold choice for walls in a room with light green elements such as plants, pottery and furniture. This color combination can feel cozy and inviting. It can be appropriate in a child's room, as the shades are often used in imagery of fairies and flowers. A light-filled potting shed with red-violet walls gives character as it shows off your seedlings.

    Light Red-Orange

    • Light red-orange is a direct complement to light blue-green. Try the warm shade below a chair rail with a creamy white above to give an energetic backdrop to blue-green upholstered furniture. For accents such as pillows, use textiles that combine all three colors, such as a botanical print with blue-green leaves, red-orange flowers and a cream background.

    Light Yellow-Green

    • For a cool, soothing, coordinated scheme, paint the walls light yellow-green and use light blue-green on the baseboard molding. Light green curtains, tablecloths and painted furniture will feel at one with the springy look. Many wallpapers employ multiple shades of green; apply some to one wall, or to the top half of the whole room with a solid color below, to break up the space. Adding silver picture frames keeps the look subdued; using bold poppy red and fuchsia frames or paintings adds dynamism.
