How to Decorate With Honeydew Slice Colors

Honeydew, a soft, greenish-yellow hue, can be used in a number of different ways to decorate your home. Whether you're looking for a large splash of color or just a small, faint pop, honeydew can add both warm tones or cool tones to any room in your home without needing to repaint the entire room. To decorate your home with honeydew colors, consider different ways and objects to introduce the color into the rooms where you'd like to represent the color.

Instructions

    • 1

Add a large splash of color to your home or single room with honeydew-colored furniture. If a solid green-yellow couch or chair is a little to bright for your tastes, consider printed furniture with shades of honeydew incorporated into the fabric. If you don't want to spend the extra money on all new furniture, purchase slip covers in a honeydew shade instead.

Paint a coffee table in honeydew for a pop of color that's a little softer -- and less expensive -- than purchasing new honeydew-colored furniture. Prime the coffee table(s) with two coats of primer to prevent the stain from seeping through the color. Then, paint the table with as many coats of honeydew paint as you need to achieve the perfect color -- typically, this will take two coats.

Place honeydew-colored throw pillows on your furniture for a soft pop of color. This will draw in just enough honeydew color to enhance your room without the color becoming overbearing.

Add little more pop of color to the honeydew-colored pillows with a honeydew-color area rug. As with the furniture, if a solid honeydew rug is too much for you, choose a patterned rug that has hints of honeydew within the fabric.

Purchase small honeydew-colored accessories to brighten the room, such as lamp shades, pictures or fresh-cut or artificial flowers.
