Begin with a color for your walls. This can be grey or white and it doesn't have to be the same in every room -- but it's good to work with similar shades to keep a sense of unity throughout your home. Deep shades of grey walls make your rooms feel smaller, while lighter shades of grey make rooms appear light and open. White walls open small spaces and give rooms a crisp appearance.

If you have a modern décor, this color could be black. If you have a formal look, you may want to incorporate silver or blue. A splash of red or green will bring excitement to your rooms.
