What to Do With an Orange Bathroom?

If you have recently purchased a home with an orange bathroom, you may be trying to decide whether to keep it or to change it. Changing your orange bathroom will largely depend on your personal style and aesthetic. The good news is that there are solid, unusual and attractive options for both of these choices. Use your creativity, and set a budget before you begin accessorizing.
  1. Paint It White

    • If walking into your bathroom and glimpsing the orange walls makes you cringe, paint the bathroom walls with white primer and several coats of white paint. Add light-colored rugs and a shower curtain to evoke a breezy, tropical feel. Hang soft white towels in rattan baskets. Fill a hurricane glass with sea shells, and place it on the counter. Keep the decor simple, clean and minimal.

    Go Disco

    • Orange walls evoke the disco craze of the 1970s. Build upon that by accessorizing with colors such as yellow, light brown and gray. You can incorporate any of these colors into the bathroom scheme. For example, hang a shower curtain with gray dots. Stack plush towels in yellow, gray and white in dark wood baskets or on dark wood shelves. Hang a yellow medicine cabinet.

    Tropical Flowers

    • Bring the colors of Jamaica and Puerto Rico into your bathroom by lining it with accessories in bright, bold colors such as blue, yellow, green and red. Accent the bathroom with white towels and a shower curtain filled with black tropical flowers.

    Tribal Bathroom

    • Turn your orange bathroom into a tribal-themed bathroom. Hang tribal wood masks on the walls. Accent trim in a light green or white. Stack white and light green towels in woven baskets. Put up a white shower curtain, and place a bamboo or woven rug on the bathroom floor.
