How to Decorate With Color on a Light Blue Couch

Select the colors that you wish to show off on your light blue couch accessories. Stick to darker hues, which pop in contrast to the light blue. Aim for other colors found in nature like chocolate brown, bright green, deep purple or fiery orange. Choose a color that works with other accessories in the room. Stick to similar color families with the different accessories for the couch.

Drape a throw blanket across the light blue couch. Throw blankets can be folded into different configurations and arranged to take up less or more space on the couch, changing the amount of color displayed. Fold it in half and drape it across the center of the couch to show lots of color or fold it into a small square and stick it over the corner of the sofa to display less color.

Scatter accent pillows on your light blue couch. There are many different configurations from which to choose. Stick one large, soft pillow on either end of the couch in matching dark colors for a cozy feel. Add an additional pillow in the center of the couch for added softness. Layer the couch pillows by placing smaller pillows in a lighter hue in front of the large ones.

Create a thin drape for the couch with a dark colored, thin piece of fabric. Measure the length of the couch and cut a piece of fabric that's at least 4 feet longer. Roll the fabric up into a crumpled line. Drape it over the couch by hanging one end over the back of the couch and weaving it from the front to the back until it reaches the other end.
