How to Decorate With Browns and Oranges

Select your furniture as a starting point. Consider dark wood furniture in a room with a lot of light. If your room lacks light, try a lighter shade of wood.

Choose flooring. If you are using carpet, select a neutral color so the carpet does not distract from the rest of the room.

Pick a rug if you have wood or tile flooring. Consider a rug that contains neutral colors with a splash of orange in it to add color to the room.

Select a paint color. You can use a neutral brown color on the wall or you can use a pale shade of orange.

Add pillows to your couch or bed to add color to the room. Try pillows with different shades of brown and some orange in them for color. If you want a bolder look, try solid orange pillows.

Put art on the walls. If your walls are orange, stick with neutral brown colors. If your walls are neutral, add art with orange in it for a burst of color.
