Americast Sink Colors

They're round, they're square, they're farm-troth wide, but regardless of shape, Americast sinks have been sprucing up kitchens for several years. American Standard, the company that owns the Americast brand, markets these sinks as "the revolutionary alternative to cast iron that's more durable and 50-percent lighter." Glossy porcelain finishes come in self-rimming and under-counter styles, and there are plenty of colors to choose from.
  1. White Heat

    • It's anybody's guess why folks at American Standard chose this name because "White Heat" is about the coolest color under the sun thanks to the sink's glossy porcelain finish and soothing ice cream parlor shine. If you're looking to call attention to a dark stone countertop or richly stained cabinets, choosing an Americast sink in White Heat will do the job.

    Rhapsody Blue

    • The homage to Gershwin notwithstanding, consider a Chandler Americast double bowl kitchen sink if you've decorated your kitchen in soothing taupe, cream and other neutral colors. Add a sleek faucet that's tall enough to fit a lobster pot under the arch. Rhapsody blue closely approximates colonial blue, so if red, white and blue are your kitchen colors, this blue is the right match.

    Black

    • That old black magic may have you in it's spell, but if you insist on using certain cleaning products on your sinks, you might not love the residue left behind on your Americast sink if you buy it in black. American Standard recommends Dawn, Palmolive and other dishwashing solutions, but they don't always do the best cleaning job. That stated, if your kitchen is decorated entirely in black and white, you might not be able to resist this black sink.

    Fawn Beige

    • Fawn Beige is a warm, rich shade that's easy to match if you've bought appliances that weren't made by American Standard. This Americast sink complements warm brown cabinetry, and if you install a porcelain tile floor that mixes and matches the browns and beiges, your kitchen will have a mellow, inviting glow that attracts more home party guests than those in the living room.

    Silver

    • If your kitchen has a full complement of stainless steel appliances and you're reticent to add one more, a silver Chandler Americast sink gives you the material break you need while keeping the cool, neutral color scheme you've chosen for your kitchen. The glossy porcelain coating adds just enough shine to the silver to keep things crisp and coordinated.

    Bone and Bisque

    • The two are so close in color, it's dealer's choice when choosing between them. As a general rule, bisque, like the thick, creamy soup, is a bit warmer than bone, which tends to be a great middle shade when you're trying to match up white with beige. Get a few opinions to see which Americast sink is closer to your kitchen color palette so you have no regrets after it's installed.

    All Colors

    • The Consumer Complaint Board (see Resources) has been monitoring Americast sinks for years and folks haven't been shy about registering complaints about flakes, rust, surface scratches, dents, chips, cracks, leaks, dull and discolored sinks. No color in the Americast family was left unscathed. A couple of folks posted compliments, but if you're buying one of these Americast sinks, look past the color and do ample research before you buy.
