Contain the leopard wallpaper to a single wall if you plan to cover the entire wall so the bedroom doesn't feel closed in. If you want the leopard pattern on all four walls, consider a leopard border that goes around the entire room a couple inches below the ceiling or about one-third of the way up the wall from the floor. Alternatively, cover the lower or upper portion of the wall in leopard wallpaper and the other half of the walls in a light neutral color, such as cream, tan or a golden brown that complements the leopard print. Separate the two with a chair rail. Leopard prints come in a variety of colors including natural browns, blue, pink and purple.
Neutral furniture works best with a busy leopard pattern on the walls to prevent the room from feeling chaotic and overwhelming, which could cause the teen to feel restless. Black wrought-iron or solid black or white furniture, along with natural wood tones work with the leopard print without competing with it. The neutral furniture will also go with a number of other decorating themes and colors should your teen tire of the leopard wallpaper. An upholstered headboard can work if it's done in a solid color, such as black, that will stand out against the leopard wallpaper, or a leopard pattern if the bed is positioned against a solid wall opposite from the leopard wallpaper.
Avoid too much leopard print if you have an entire wall covered in leopard wallpaper. Mix in solid colors or reversible bedding, or let leopard-print sheets peak out from under a solid duvet or comforter. Use other animal prints if you want to include a variety, such as zebra stripes or cheetah spots. Keep the animal prints in a single color to prevent a clashing disaster. Alternatively, a leopard print carpet, curtains or duvet cover could pull the room together if your leopard wallpaper is limited to a border around the room.
Add a few leopard print accessories throughout the room to visually relate one detail to the next. Keep the other details neutral or use a single bright color against a natural-colored leopard print, such as fuchsia or turquoise. Lampshades, nightlights, candles, hat boxes, throw pillows, photo boards and picture frames are a few ideas. Mix in other animal print accessories if you're using a combination of prints.
