Instructions

    • 1

Paint the bathroom walls a neutral, mid-tone color that complements the vanity. Tan, soft green, golden yellow or soft brown are good choices.

    • 2

Cover the floor with a bathroom rug in a deep or bright color that coordinates with the vanity.

    • 3

Choose new towels to match the bathroom rug. A patterned towel will draw attention to itself and away from the mismatched bathroom surfaces.

    • 4

Replace the shower curtain with a patterned design, making sure colors are complementary with the other bathroom upgrades.

    • 5

Buy an interesting, matched bathroom accessory set of toothbrush holder, soap dispenser, tissue cover and trash basket. A bold color, interesting shape or set made from materials such as stone, wood or with ornamental trim will add interest to the bathroom and help unify its appearance.

    • 6

Hang a picture or two that harmonizes with the design and color of the towels and bathroom set. Keep the size of the artwork in scale with the bathroom's size.

    • 7

Protect your privacy with a window covering the same color as the walls, but a shade deeper.
