How to Decorate With a White Comforter

Pair your white comforter with a colorful layer underneath such as colored sheets or a colored blanket between the comforter and sheets. Fold the comforter back to the bottom of the bed when you want a wash of color added to the room, or keep it neatly folded up for a tidier look.

Fold a throw blanket into thirds and drape it across the bottom of the bed. Select a solid-colored blanket to define the decorating palette for the room. Warm coral or cerulean blue add vibrant color. Soft pink or beige creates a calmer atmosphere.

Use white pillow shams for the largest pillows on the bed to anchor the space. Pile colored pillows in increasingly smaller sizes in front of these. Use a pair of standard-sized pillows for a neat, clean-lined look. Pile on throw pillows in a variety of shapes and textures for a softer atmosphere that just begs you to dive onto the bed.
