Instructions

    • 1

Paint two opposing walls a neutral color, such as tan. Apply one to two coats, as necessary, for full coverage. Paint one of the remaining walls pink and one of the remaining walls blue. Use two coats of paint, if necessary. Let the paint dry overnight.

    • 2

Paint a simple design on the neutral walls. For example, choose stars, hearts, polka dots or swirls. Use a stencil for a consistent shape and size or free-hand the design. Paint the design using pink and blue paint that matches the pink and blue you chose for the other two walls. Let the design dry overnight.

    • 3

Place the furniture in the room. If you have two cribs, place one on the pink wall and one on the blue wall. Place the baby bedding in the cribs. Place the changing table, dresser and a rocker against the neutral-colored walls.

    • 4

Hang curtains. Choose a curtain material that mimics the designs on the wall, matches the baby bedding or is solid blue or pink. If you have two windows, use pink on one window and blue on the other. Accent the curtains with blue and pink curtain ties.

    • 5

Place a pink and blue rug in the center of the room.

    • 6

Add pink and blue finishing accents to the room. For example, place a pink and blue lampshade on a table lamp. Hang pictures with blue and pink hues. Place stuffed animals with the blue and pink colors around the room.
