Paint your walls solid burnt sienna. Use up-and-down brush strokes. Avoid painting sideways, as this can cause the paint to dry unevenly. Allow the walls to dry for at least 24 hours. If they aren't quite dark enough, add an extra coat of paint before you begin to decorate.
Opt for deep blue or dark green furniture to complement the colors of your walls. Both forest green and cobalt blue go well with burnt sienna. If you want to use furniture you currently own, simply paint wooden furniture a new color. For upholstered sofas, buy a sofa cover at any home interior store. A sofa cover is less costly than having your furniture reupholstered.
Hang wall decor that features burnt sienna and other shades of orange and brown. Frame paintings or posters in white pictures frames to differentiate the colors from the painted wall. For a rustic or autumn theme, hang a wreath of brown leaves above the sofa in lieu of a picture.
Place a burnt sienna area rug on laminate flooring or lightly colored carpeting. This helps the room feel inclusive and complete. If you have hardwood flooring in your home, opt for several white-edged area rugs that feature a burnt sienna pattern on the interior.
