How to Decorate a Room With Different Disney Characters

The only difficult part of decorating a room with Disney characters is deciding which characters to include. You can choose characters that are related in some way, like the cast from a single movie like "The Lion King." You can also include characters that share a common theme, like Disney princesses or villains. Choose characters from a particular era, like the early days of Disney or from the Pixar films if you want to give a diverse group of characters a common element. No matter which characters you choose, use the basic decorating skills you already have to make your Disney room shine.

Instructions

    • 1

Decide what characters make the cut for your room. You can form the decor around one character, a pair or a whole group, depending on your preferences.

    • 2

Choose wall colors based on the characters you have selected. Disney makes its own licensed brand of paint, so you can paint your room the exact green of Tinkerbell's dress or Winnie the Pooh yellow. Paint the walls using the colors you selected.

    • 3

Add decorative wall effects to the room. If you are artistic, paint a mural featuring your chosen Disney characters. If you are not artistically inclined, purchase pre-made murals, wallpaper cutouts or vinyl clings that feature Disney characters and install on the wall.

    • 4

Choose bedding that is printed with one or more Disney characters. Look for sheets, a comforter, throw pillows and more with printed character designs. Add Disney stuffed animals to the bed for an added touch.

    • 5

Pick smaller room accents to go in the room. Choose posters or framed artwork of Disney characters to adorn the walls, covered switch plates for the light switches and character-adorned furniture for the room. If you can't find licensed Disney furnishings that feature your chosen characters, use rub-ons or stickers made for scrap booking to embellish plain pieces.
